Upcoming OLPC XO-3 Tablet from OLPC
Posted by My Blogs on 12:34 PM

Remember the OLPC (One Laptop per Child) project? You’d think they’re dead, but they’re not. They’ve been busy developing new products to implement new advance technology in a budget way to follow the philosophy of their organization. With the sudden buzz of tablets and touchscreen wonders, project founder Nicholas Negroponte said that they’ve developed a new tablet called the XO-3 and will launch it sometime in February 2011. Well, it’s initially for kids as their new digital book, so it’s no surprise to feature dual screens.
I won’t say that it’s affordable for 3rd world countries
and developing countries with the price of $75, but it sure is a freaking steal if you compare it to current slates offered in the market. the tablet features a flexible touchscreen display, which may be made of glass or some flavor of glass. Negroponte said that the OLPC XO-3 might include haptic feedback and “more important than anything else, a dual-mode display.” He also explained that the device will be able to be used both indoors and in direct sunlight.
